The high drama in General Hospital's Quartermaine household is at an all-time high now that Willow has moved back to the gatehouse. For months, Willow has played Chase like a fiddle, knowing he will always go to bat for her.

However, Brook Lynn saw through Willow’s manipulations and tried to frame the congresswoman. She opened up to her husband and even communicated her insecurities. In response, Chase promised to keep adopted daughter Phoebe and their family his top priority. However, that might not work out very well now that Willow is ready to pour on the tears to get Chase on her side.

5 Facts Chase Must Realize to Save His Marriage on GH1) Willow Shot Drew

Alongside Kai Taylor (Jens Austin Astrup) and Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali), GH fans learned that Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) shot Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) in the back at her trial. While worried about being caught for trespassing, Kai and Trina told Willow’s attorney, Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) the truth. However, Alexis got her client acquitted, but Willow is running out of allies.

Willow proceeded to pin the blame on her ex-husband, Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson), hoping to get full custody of their children. Believing Willow innocent and Michael the real culprit, Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) unknowingly helped her frame Michael. He even ran an unauthorized parallel investigation to help Willow, leading to his demotion. When Chase learns the truth, he would be ashamed of himself. He may have self-doubts about his investigative skills for trusting a culprit.

2) Willow Injected Drew with paralytic drugs

Unable to kill Drew with a gun, Willow married him and then injected him with a paralytic drug. She kept her husband paralyzed for months, while enjoying the benefits of his congressional seat. Moreover, she continued looking for some dirt on Drew to take him down.

However, in front of Chase, she always plays the victim act. Filled with sympathy for her, Chase continued to help her. Eventually, when he learns the truth, he will be devastated. He will feel let down by Willow while his own instincts left him. He may also feel amazed at the extent of evil Willow is capable of.

3) Never Cross Tracy

Chase's fragile adjustment with Tracy may fall through | Image: ABC

So far, there exists a delicate peace between Chase and the Quartermaine matriarch, Tracy (Jane Elliot). She dislikes the fact that Chase and Michael had multiple frictions and Chase chose to back the woman who ditched Michael. However, Tracy has tried to maintain a truce with him as Chase is the husband of Tracy’s granddaughter, Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton).

Although Tracy has been suspicious about Chase’s devotion and attention towards Willow, and even threatened to throw him out, she relented when BLQ asked her to. If Chase cheats on Brook Lynn with Willow, he had better watch his back because Tracy wrath is not something he wants to face.

4) Michael is Not the Problem

As discussed before, Chase is placing his trust on a criminal. In his conviction about Willow’s innocence, he is ready to believe Michael as the perpetrator of the crimes without any evidence. While Michael has refuted the allegations, time and again, Chase is driven by Willow’s version of events.

However, Detective Chase must finally figure out that Michael did not shoot Drew, nor did he indulge in any crime against Drew or Willow, unlike what the congresswoman says. As a diligent cop, if Chase investigates the events in an unbiased manner, he will stumble upon the truth. Then he will have the vital understanding that Michael was never the real problem while Chase was backing and aiding the actual culprit.

5) His Marriage Needs to Come First

As fans can see, Willow’s manipulation of Chase and his zeal and commitment to become her savior has put a strain on his marriage with Brook Lynn. While BLQ tries to be indulgent and patient, she is feeling insecure in her marriage. In one of her responses, she tried to frame Willow but came clean to Chase. She also asked her husband to put baby Phoebe as his priority.

Through all his resentment towards Michael and his support for Willow, Chase needs to understand that his marriage needs time, attention, and effort. Moreover, with Chase and BLQ adopting Phoebe, they must create a loving and safe family for her to be raised in. As such, he must focus more on his family and less on outsiders. And he needs to emphasize his love towards his wife and daughter over his former spouse.

Can Chase overcome the pull he feels towards Willow’s needs and focus on his own family? Let us know your opinions in the comments.
