Lady Amelia Spencer and Lady Eliza Spencer are daughters of Charles Spencer, the 9th Earl of Spencer, who is Princess Diana’s younger brother.

After growing up in South Africa with their mother, model Victoria Lockwood, both of them are living in the UK and building their careers as models and entrepreneurs.

They’re also fixtures in major red carpet and fashion week events, and share an uncanny similarity with their late aunt.

While Princess Diana became one of the world’s most famous royals after marrying King Charles in 1981, she was born into an aristocratic family herself. She was born a Spencer, one of Britain’s longest-standing noble families, tracing its roots all the way back to the 16th century. Her father was Edward John Spencer, the 8th Earl Spencer, and the title has since been passed down to Diana’s younger brother, Charles Spencer, the 9th Earl of Spencer.

Following the lineage, that meant that Charles’ kids would also have royal titles. Over the years, Charles welcomed seven children from three different marriages. His first marriage was to model Victoria Lockwood, and together they welcomed three daughters, Lady Kitty Spencer and twins Lady Eliza Spencer and Lady Amelia Spencer, as well as their son, Louis Spencer, Viscount Althorp.

After welcoming their kids, the family moved to South Africa in 1995 to get away from media attention. Charles and Lockwood divorced in 1997, the same year of Diana’s passing, and the children continued living in South Africa while often traveling to see their father in the UK. “It is a truly special and beautiful place,” Eliza said of the Spencer royal residence, Althorp, to Tatler. “Having spent the first three years of our lives at Althorp, exploring and discovering it as children, and being part of a long heritage of Spencers that have lived there, it has always felt like another home.”

These days, Eliza and Amelia, who were born on July 10, 1992, have built lives for themselves in the UK, while still having a soft spot for South Africa. They’re also each other’s best friends. “We’ve always been very close,” Amelia told Tatler of their close bond. “We’re very similar. We love doing the same things and share the same friends. You’re guaranteed to have a best friend there always – you can’t really compare it to anything else.”

Together with her sister, Lady Amelia Spencer has a career in modeling. The twins are both signed to Storm Model Management, appear regularly at fashion weeks around the globe and are brand ambassadors for the British jewelry label Boodles and the accessories label Aspinal of London. Both of them have also walked the runway, making their catwalk debut at Josh Birch Jones’ fall 2023 fashion show in London. In Tatler’s March 2025 cover, they also made their magazine cover debut alongside their older sister, Kitty.

In addition to modeling, Amelia also has a career in wedding planning in South Africa. “I’m a romantic,” she told The Telegraph. “I love the structure of wedding planning, the timeline. I’m a people person. I enjoy working with everyone from the bride and groom to the parents.”

During her time at the University of Cape Town, where she earned a degree in corporate communications, she also met her husband, fitness instructor Greg Mallett. “It’s very motivating being with a fitness instructor,” she joked to the outlet. “We’ve been together 13 years and it still feels like the first year.”

On March 21, 2023, they tied the knot at Quoin Rock Manor House in Stellenbosch, South Africa. “It was surreal,” Amelia told Vogue after the nuptials. “As soon as we locked eyes, we both felt a sense of calm, and we have never felt so much love and happiness.”

The couple, who tied the knot after 14 years together, got engaged in 2020 during vacation in Franschhoek, South Africa. “After a romantic lunch and day by the pool, we returned to our room where I had organized for champagne and rose petals to be laid out,” Greg remembers. “I had one big pink box inside, which I put in eight smaller boxes, decreasing in size. In each box was a photograph of some of our most special memories.” As she opened the last box, Mallett got down on one knee.

Much like her sister, Lady Eliza Spencer is also a model and has lived in the UK since moving from South Africa. She is also a business owner and founder of rosé brand Côtes de Provence Rosé. Before that, she obtained a degree in psychology and criminology at Varsity College in South Africa.

In the interview with Tatler, Eliza opened up about a difficult time in her life. In 2008, her 17-year-old boyfriend, Chris Elliott, died in a road accident when a car in which he was a passenger crashed into a tree. The challenging time had her relying on her close friends and family more than ever. “I went through a very difficult time and had an incredible [support] team, who I am so grateful to,” Eliza remembered to the outlet. “They helped me get through it, along with support from my family and friends. I still see my therapist.”

Despite the heartbreak in 2008, Eliza has gone on to find another love in her life with Channing Millerd, the chief operating officer of DataLedger, a blockchain service provider.

They announced their engagement in July 2025 during a romantic trip to Santorini, Greece. They had been together for nine years by then. “I laughed and I cried. I don’t know how he pulled it all off, but it was so special,” she said of the moment in an interview with Hello! “He did the most amazing job – above and beyond. I couldn’t have dreamt of such a beautiful setting. It really was a dream come true.”

On December 20, 2025, Eliza and Millerd celebrated their engagement in a beachfront rooftop bash in Cape Town, South Africa. “We’re having around 50 of our closest friends and family, which will be amazing,” she told Hello! “One month ago today, we celebrated our engagement surrounded by the people we love most, in the place closest to our hearts,” Eliza wrote on Instagram in January alongside photos of their big day.
