New details from Britney Spears' March DUI arrest have emerged.
Spears was taken into custody on March 4 shortly after 9 p.m., according to Ventura County, Calif., police reports obtained by *Us Weekly* on May 20. Local police received calls about a car “traveling at high speeds and swerving.”
Page Six reported that a 911 caller described "an erratic driving person" who was "erratically slamming on the brakes.” The caller also claimed she had "almost side-swiped three or four vehicles."
Her black BMW was reportedly crossing into other lanes. “[The subject] continued to drive in the #2 lane and did not immediately react to my emergency lights. I activated the [police car’s] siren to get the driver’s attention,” the officer said, per the reports. The officer noticed the "distinct odor of an alcoholic beverage."**
Spears allegedly told the officer the only alcohol she consumed was a champagne mimosa seven hours before she was pulled over. “I could probably drink four bottles of wine and take care of you. I’m an angel,” she allegedly added.

She reportedly listed the medication she had taken today, which included Lamictal, Prozac, and Adderall, and the last meal she ate was some ice cream 6 hours prior. “[An officer] located a brown purse that contained a bottle of pills labeled ‘Adderall,’ which were not prescribed to Spears,” the report said. “[The officer] also observed an empty wine glass in the cup holder between the front driver seat and passenger seat.”
Though Spears' eyes were "red and watery" with dilated pupils, she later passed two breathalyzer tests once brought to the local precinct.**
Spears initially refused to exit her car when asked but stepped out after 10 objections, per the report.
"Her speech was rapid and slurred, her gait was unsteady, and she was fidgeting with her fingers," the officer said. The singer took sobriety tests at the scene, but claimed she wasn't feeling well enough to finish them.**

“Spears related the lights were hurting her head and did not want to continue the test. Spears was unable or unwilling to follow my finger throughout the test,” the report claimed.
“Spears continued to move her head throughout the test after being instructed to keep her head still," the report continued. "Spears related that she was blind in her left eye, but was able to see my finger.”
Spears was then taken to the CHP Moorpark Office and then Los Robles Medical Center in Thousand Oaks, Calif., for a drug test. While there, she asked to use the restroom and became "argumentative and belligerent" while in the restroom. Handcuffs were placed on her, and she was then placed into a police vehicle.**

Spears was ultimately arrested on suspicion of DUI. "This was an unfortunate incident that is completely inexcusable. Britney is going to take the right steps and comply with the law and hopefully this can be the first step in a long-overdue change that needs to occur in Britney's life," a rep for Spears said at the time. "Hopefully, she can get the help and support she needs during this difficult time."
She was released the following morning and charged on April 30 with one misdemeanor count of driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol.

On May 4, she pleaded guilty to reckless driving involving alcohol, drugs, or both. She was able to avoid jail time since she hadn't had a previous DUI offense, had a low blood alcohol level at the time of the arrest, and didn't crash her car or cause injury.
As a result, Spears was fined $571, placed on 12 months probation, and ordered to complete a three-month substance abuse program.**
