Cody Johnson's son has a parental preference!
The country singer, 38, opened up about life with his 7-month-old son, Jaycee, while speaking with Billboardat the 2026 Academy of Country Music Awards on Sunday, May 17 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Johnson and his wife Brandi, who married in 2008, welcomed Jaycee in October 2025. They also share daughters Clara Mae, 11, and Cori, who was born in 2017.
When Johnson was asked about the new addition to his family, he said, “It's been great, man.”

“He's fat, he's healthy, he's a mama's boy,” the “'Til You Can't” singer said. “I didn't know that it was gonna be like that.”
“I play with him, I'm pretty rough. And mama walks in the room, says one word and it's ‘muh muh muh.' I am chopped liver around the house with that kid,” Johnson joked.

Johnson announced that Jaycee was born while co-hosting the Country Countdown USA with Lon Helton in November 2025.
"I didn't know if you were gonna bring it up, but yeah, baby Jaycee, finally got my boy," Johnson said when asked by Helton. "He and Mom are here at the house. They're happy and healthy, and it's been a wonderful experience."

Johnson and Brandi shared that their family was growing at the 2025 ACM Awards.
"We're having a little boy! We decided to make this our announcement to the world and our gender reveal as well," he told PEOPLE exclusively at the time.
The singer was previously announced as a performer at the 2026 ACM Awards, along with Lainey Wilson and Riley Green. He received four nominations at the awards show, including Entertainer of the Year, Male Artist of the Year, Single of the Year and Visual Media of the Year.
Johnson is set to release his new studio album, Banks of the Trinity, on June 26.
The 61st Academy of Country Music Awards, hosted by Shania Twain, are streaming live on Prime Video from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
