Now that Kathryn Hahn is done walking the Witches' Road, she's getting ready to climb Rapunzel's braid.

Following months of fan-casting, social media pleading, and hopeful speculation, the *Agatha All Along* actress has officially been cast to play Mother Gothel in Disney's live-action remake of *Tangled*.

Hahn announced the news with a cheeky video, shared to both Disney's official social media pages and her own. In the clip, Hahn mimics a popular social media trend by showing off her "outfit of the day." But when she backs away from the camera, she's wearing a T-shirt plastered with Mother Gothel's face.

On Disney's official Threads account, the caption reads, "You want her to be the bad guy? FINE. Kathryn Hahn is Mother Gothel in Disney’s live-action *Tangled*."

Meanwhile, Hahn changed her name across social media accounts to "Mother Hahn," and her Instagram bio now includes an iconic line from the manipulative sorceress who uses Rapunzel's powers to maintain her youth: "Mother knows best."

A remake of the Disney's 2010 animated film of the same name, the film is also set to star Teagan Croft as Rapunzel and Milo Manheim as her love interest, Flynn Rider. Croft is an Australian actress whose credits include *Home and Away* and the DC series *Titans*. Meanwhile, Manheim is best known for his work on Disney's musical movie series *Zombies* and his season 27 stint on *Dancing With the Stars*.

The original *Tangled *was a retelling of the German fairy tale *Rapunzel*, about a lost princess who has 70 feet of magical hair and a desire to leave the tower that she's been locked up in for years. After a chance encounter with a handsome thief, she strikes a deal to finally embark on the simple adventure she's always wanted — and ends up getting much more than she bargained for.

*This Is Us *star Mandy Moore voiced Rapunzel in the original *Tangled *and its assorted animated spinoffs; her Flynn was played by *Chuck* alum Zachary Levi and Donna Murphy provided the voice of Mother Gothel.

EW reported last year that the new iteration of *Tangled* will be helmed by *The Greatest Showman* director Michael Gracey. The screenplay is from Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, who wrote *Do Revenge *and co-wrote *Thor: Love and Thunder*. No information regarding the music has been announced, though it's expected Alan Menken and Glenn Slater's fan-favorite songs from the original film will be included.
