Ella Langley received some sage advice from Miranda Lambert.

During an interview on Country Countdown USA on Feb. 23, the "Be Her" musician spoke about the success of her hit "Choosin' Texas" and the advice she got from her co-writer Lambert, 42.

Langley, 26, revealed that as "Choosin' Texas" has reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, she and the "Run" artist have reflected on its success.

"We were talking on FaceTime the other night. We’ve made history with this song, both just baffled and grateful. We loved the song, but never thought it would do this. There’s no way you can predict it," she said.

Langley called Lambert, who also co-produced the "Strangers" musician's forthcoming album Dandelion, "such a godsend for me."

"I always wanted to produce a record with her," said Langley. "After we wrote 'Choosin’ Texas,' she was there for all the sessions."

According to Langley, Lambert was also a well of advice.

"She said to me ‘You are more important than this job.’ She made me care for myself. Having someone like that made me feel like I’m okay," she recalled.

On Feb. 5, Langley posted to her Instagram Stories about the real possibility of "Choosin' Texas" achieving the No. 1 position on the Billboard Hot 100.

"Y'all have put me in a position to do something only a few females in country music history have ever done," she said, sharing an image of the chart.

Added Langley, "I'm being told we're neck and neck on getting the #1 and if we have one last push on iTunes we might make country music history!"

She then noted that "less than 10 women in country music have gotten a #1 on Billboard."

While many women in country music have appeared on Billboard's other charts over the years, including Dolly Parton, Reba McEntire, Tammy Wynette, Crystal Gayle, Loretta Lynn, Roseanne Cash, The Judds and Tanya Tucker, few, including Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood and Beyoncé, have claimed the title in the past.

Langley then posted a picture of herself and Lambert hugging alongside the caption, "I know we can do it ❤️." She concluded her series of Stories with one final message: "Let's do it for women & let's do it for country music 🫶🏻."

Langley's forthcoming sophomore album Dandelion is due on April 10. Meanwhile, Lambert's most recent solo project, 2025's Postcards from Texas, was nominated for best contemporary country album at the 2026 Grammy Awards.
