Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly "considering a public apology" to help heal their rift with the Royal Family. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex recently returned to the UK to repair their relationship with King Charles following their departure from royal life in 2020.

It marked the first time Charles had seen his grandchildren Archie, seven, and Lilibet, five in four years. Harry has yet to publicly make amends with his brother, Prince William.

On Thursday's episode of The Royals Uncensored, host Jo Elvin was joined by former royal butler Grant Harold and commentator Kinsey Schofield, who argued it's "incredibly unfair" that the King has left his eldest son, William, to "deal with the mess."

Jo said, "There are some fresh reports suggesting that Harry is keen to keep building bridges. Apparently, there are more visits in the works and there are rumours Harry and Meghan are considering a public apology to end the feud. We know the King's door is ajar but William's is firmly shut with a chair propped up firmly against the door."

She went on to suggest King Charles may be "smoothing the path" in an attempt to resolve the family conflict and safeguard the royal legacy.

The comments follow the Sussexes' latest UK visit, during which the pair reportedly accepted a series of conditions designed to maintain harmony and rebuild ties with the family.

This included Harry and Meghan's meeting with the King would be "strictly private" with "no cameras, no subsequent Instagram posts, no revelations in interviews afterwards," according to the Daily Mail.

"I think it's more selfish than that," Kinsey explained. "The King doesn't want to be remembered for cutting off his son and for not trying to make it work. I think he is selfish when it comes to William."

The royal commentator suggested Charles' efforts to reconcile with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have caught William off guard.

She went on, "We're confident that behind the scenes William wants nothing to do with Harry and Meghan and thinks they're a liability to the future of the monarchy.. If the King recognized that and respected that he would strip [Harry and Meghan] of their titles and make it easy for a King William reign."

Kinsey argued it was unfair for Charles to leave William to deal with the Harry and Meghan "mess" when he eventually ascends the throne, claiming the Sussexes will carry on with their "shenanigans."

The couple recently made the journey with their two children to reconnect with King Charles and Queen Camilla in the UK, suggesting they may be working towards mending the family divide.
