In 2024, Ice Spice first shut down rumors that she was taking Ozempic, an FDA-approved prescription medication for people with type 2 diabetes. It's one of the brand names for semaglutide — also known as Wegovy — and it suppresses appetite and increases satiety, leading to weight loss.
"I wish y'all never learned the word Ozempic. That's one thing I wish," she said on X. "Oh my God, like, what even is Ozempic? What the f--- is that? Genuinely, what is that?"
At the time, the Grammy nominee said her grueling tour schedule led to her slimdown.
"Like, you lazy ass bitches never heard of a gym?" she continued. "It's called the gym. It's called eating healthy. It's called being on tour. Like, what the hell? Maybe if I was sitting home all day, it would be easier to stay big."
