Xandra Pohl has sparked internet discourse after a video she made revealing her controversial home renovation choice went viral.Standing in her kitchen in a May 29 TikTok video, the influencer, 25, told her followers that after renovating her "whole house," she had decided that she didn't "like it anymore, so we are re-renovating it.""Let's talk about it," she said, before opening up about her choice. "So about a year ago, I bought my dream home, and I've been renovating it ever since; But I didn't have an interior designer, and I thought I knew what I wanted, but I don't. And now we are standing in my kitchen, which, honestly, I really like, but I don't love it. So we are gutting this whole entire thing and starting over."

Pohl then shared that all the materials from the house that they would be taking out would be donated to Habitat for Humanity to "make sure that somebody else can have their dream home." Pohl then walked followers through the new renovation plans for the just-finished kitchen, including getting rid of the countertops, taking out the farmhouse-style decor and other things.Commenters had much to say underneath the video, with many expressing their disappointment at Pohl.
"So out of touch with reality ❤️," one user wrote. "Did this piss anyone else off? 🙋♀️I live in a one bedroom as a family of 4!" another added. Others called the creator out for posting "rage bait."

"This isn't landing the way you thought it would........" another said. Others weighed in on Pohl's decision to keep the tiled flooring, with quite a few commenters expressing that it was their least favorite part of the kitchen.
Some came through with support for Pohl, including one commenter who wrote, "She's changing something in HER OWN HOUSE, with HER OWN MONEY, and donating all the bits she's removing, yet the comments are people complaining about what they can't afford?? like her renovating her own house is going to change what's in your pockets?"Online, Pohl is known to her 1.3 million TikTok followers and over 600,000 Instagram followers for her lifestyle content, as well as for being a DJ who goes by the stage name XANDRA. She first taught herself how to DJ on YouTube.“There are videos from high school and grade school of me on the floor of my room with just two big speakers,” she told PEOPLE in August 2025. “I had the little 100 DJ board for about two months. Then I told my mom, ‘I want to get a really nice bigger board — I'll pay you back someday because I'm going to figure this out.' She said 'Okay,' and we bought the bigger one."She has also graced the Sports IllustratedSwimsuit edition more than a few times, first being named as a rookie in 2024. In July 2023, she made her debut in the brand's fashion show in Miami.
