Celebrity kitchens make the headlines for their jaw-dropping designs — imported marble, bespoke cabinetry and one-of-a-kind materials, fixtures and finishes. While some of these luxe spaces rival the sale price you’d pay for a home, you don’t need celebrity-level wealth to capture the same looks.

Christopher Meloni
If you’ve seen “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” “Law & Order: Organized Crime” or his other shows, you’ll instantly recognize actor Christopher Meloni. In his Architectural Digest home tour, Meloni walked viewers through his West Village penthouse in New York City, showcasing skyline views, art-filled spaces and different marble in every room.
In his one-of-a-kind kitchen, you’ll find unique items, like walnut tiles and a light fixture with removable crystals. Get the look with fluted walnut tiles from Merola Tile, marble island tops from Home Depot or marble retailers, brass faucet fixtures from Wayfair, and gold ring light fixtures with hanging crystals from most lighting stores.
For removable magnetic crystals like Meloni’s, you’ll likely need a custom lighting designer.

Jennifer Aniston
According to Wren Kitchens, the Beverly Hills kitchen Jennifer Aniston shared with ex-husband Brad Pitt displayed a monochrome palette featuring bespoke black-and-white marble flooring, matching marble countertops, black matte cabinets and white subway tile lined with grey grout.
Recreate the look for less with a black-and-white checkerboard floor in durable porcelain tile, instead of marble, available in many tile stores. Hire a professional to repaint your cabinets in black for the best results. You can also pick up white subway tile and gray tile grout at any big-box store, such as Lowe’s or Home Depot.
Aniston’s current kitchen also brings a lot of luxury. It features a custom wood island with a waterfall-edge countertop, bronze pendant lighting, and pale wood cabinets that don’t have any handles or knobs, per The Kitchn. To recreate the look in your own kitchen, check out bronze lighting options and pale wood cabinets at stores like Home Depot or Lowe’s. Waterfall countertops can be pricey, so you’ll likely need to shell out a bit more money for those.
Tips From Kitchen Design Experts
Want more ways to replicate the look of a celebrity kitchen without draining your savings? Here are some expert tips when remodeling your kitchen on a budget.
Reface Kitchen Cabinets
A set of new kitchen cabinets can easily run into double or even triple digits for premium styles. A cheaper option is to keep the boxes and replace the cabinet doors, according to Teri Simone of Nieu Cabinet Doors.
She recommended reusing your existing cabinet boxes or pairing new Ikea boxes with custom doors for a “completely fresh design at a fraction of the cost.”
Ask Your Contractor for Leftover Materials From Prior Jobs
Kitchen designer and contractor Thomas Borcherding of Homestar Design Remodel said he’s used materials from other jobs for new clients when appropriate.
“If I have enough material from another job and it’s sufficient for the square footage of my client’s space, I’ll be sure to run it past them,” he said.
Buy Materials Secondhand
Simone explained that she also loves mixing in thrifted or antique finds, such as vintage hardware, lighting fixtures or bar stools. “These items add so much character and personal style, and make your kitchen feel like a truly one-of-a-kind, considered space,” she said.
You can also find inexpensive building materials in stores and online marketplaces, such as Habitat For Humanity and Facebook Marketplace, according to Borcherding. And don’t rule out antique stores.
“Sourcing materials from unique channels, such as antique shops, is a great way to come across one-of-a-kind [pieces] that make your kitchen feel custom and curated,” he said.
Lastly, consider using Google Lens. Just snap a photo with your smartphone camera, and the app will deliver pictures and links to similar products at different price points.
