Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are expected to wed at Madison Square Garden in New York City later this week

Multiple sources tell PEOPLE that guests will follow a black-tie dress code

Another insider says there will be a strict no-phones policy

Best believe Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding guests will be bejeweled.

As the mega pop star and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end's wedding at New York City's most iconic venue, Madison Square Garden, nears, sources tell PEOPLE that guests must dress to impress — but ditch their cellphones.

Multiple sources tell PEOPLE that the dress code for the Big Apple bash on Friday, July 3, is black tie. Further, guests will adhere by a no-phones policy, an insider tells PEOPLE.

"Guests have been told there will be a phone check upon arrival," the insider says.

Between 500 to 999 people will attend the celebration, per city permits. Some stars — including George Kittle, Andy Reid, Graham Norton and Suki Waterhouse — have outright confirmed they'll watch Swift and Kelce walk down the aisle. Other celebrities expected to attend include: Ed Sheeran, Zoë Kravitz, Jack Antonoff, and Stevie Nicks.

George Kittle claimed earlier this month that invitees still don't know where the wedding will take place. "I have no idea," he told Entertainment Tonight at the Tight Ends & Friends Concert Presented by Sports Illustrated and Reese's in Nashville on June 23. His wife Claire agreed, telling ET, "We don't know."

The NFL player continued, "I actually asked Travis last night and he laughed at me, so ... I'm half expecting there just to be a jumbo jet on the runway and they put us on a plane somewhere. I don't have expectations, I know it's going to be amazing."

At the same event, Kittle revealed to ExtraTV another rule Swift and Kelce have for their guests: "absolutely no gifts."

Wedding setup is currently underway.

Preparations for Swift and Kelce's apparent wedding festivities began on Monday, June 29, as trucks were spotted outside Madison Square Garden with workers loading equipment, grass and other decorations into the venue. A few black equipment boxes were seen, including one which was labeled "Garden Party" in purple.

Sources told PEOPLE at the time that there were around 40 MSG employees all in uniform working to prepare the space, with staff "working through the night" for a "big event."

Among the more than 150 boxes outside, one marked box that read "Mirror Ball" was larger than all the others. Staffers were seen loading up forklifts and transporting boxes into the venue for more than two hours, and were still going past midnight.

The next day on Tuesday, June 30, workers were seen putting down red carpet at Madison Square Garden, per a video posted by Deuxmoi. The stairs leading into the south entrance were covered in the red velvet rug as staff continued to prepare for the event. The carpet was later removed, according to Page 6.
