Jackie Tohn shares she feels like a member of Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard's family
Tohn jokes she’s biologically related to Bell’s daughters Lincoln and Delta and calls them her “birth children”
Tohn donates Bell’s daughters’ hand-me-downs to her niece and says the family often includes her in special moments
Jackie Tohn is sharing just how close she is with her costar and good friend Kristen Bell's family.
Speaking with PEOPLE at the PaleyFest LA Celebrates Netflix's Nobody Wants This panel on Wednesday, April 8, the actress, 45, opened up about her close friendship with Bell. Tohn revealed she's an "auntie" to Bell's two daughters — Lincoln, 13, and Delta, 11, whom she shares with husband Dax Shepard — and joked she's biologically related to them.
"I tell them all the time that they're actually my birth children," Tohn jokes to PEOPLE. "I'm like, 'It's so funny, you look just like these Dax and Kristen people, but I carried you both and you're my children.'"

Tohn also shares that she will sometimes donate hand-me-downs from Bell's kids to her niece, who is about Lincoln's age.

"I have a real niece who's the same age as Lincoln, and when Lincoln grows out of her stuff, I often send [it to] my niece Lily," explains Tohn. "I'm always like, 'This stuff is from me and Kristen.' And they're always so excited. They'll send her messages. Thank her for all the rad swag that my niece gets to wear to school because it was Lincoln's."
"But it's amazing, being a member, I mean...I feel like a member of that family," says the actress. "[There has] been random stuff going on lately, and they called me and they were like, 'You're coming to family dinner.' And I was like, 'On my way.' 'You need to sit at this table with us.' 'Coming!'"

Tohn has been dating her boyfriend Joe Gilette since at least 2021. Gilette, who is an actor, writer and director, joined Nobody Wants This as a guest star in the second season.
In a September 2025 interview with Entertainment Weekly, Bell opened up about her costar Adam Brody and Tohn’s real-life partners being featured in the series. Brody's wife Leighton Meester and Tohn's boyfriend Gilette played a married couple on the show.
“It got so incestuous,” she said. “I had a blast on set saying, ‘Jackie's boyfriend is playing Adam's wife's husband and Adam's wife is playing Jackie's boyfriend's wife.’ It was like breaking the sim.”
