Kaia Gerber claims that her mom, supermodel Cindy Crawford, once had an exorcism performed on her.
“That actually did happen. I’ve never talked about it, but that actually did happen,” Gerber admitted.
Gerber currently stars on The Shards, which is available to stream on Hulu.

The actress made the revelation during an appearance on the Mitch Churi Chat Show podcast alongside The Shardscostar Graham Campbell.
While discussing her first foray into the Ryan Murphy television universe, Gerber admitted that her mother gave her holy water to bring to the set of American Horror Story: Double Feature. “I was told I was possessed as a child,” she said, noting how she felt “haunted” her whole life.
“I do feel as though I attract beings from another dimension in a very casual and chill way,” Gerber added.

When asked if she had been exorcised, Gerber admitted that one had indeed been performed on her.
“Do you know how they did the exorcism? They played a didgeridoo all over me, that’s how they did the exorcism,” Gerber continued, mentioning the Indigenous Australian wind instrument. Though she didn’t provide more details of the event, Gerber remained adamant that she experienced an exorcism.
“That actually did happen. I’ve never talked about it, but that actually did happen,” she concluded.

Gerber mentioned on the Mitch Churi Chat Show that it was “a dream” to appear in Murphy’s latest show, based on the 2023 book of the same name by Bret Easton Ellis.
“I grew up on Glee, I’ve seen everything [Murphy’s] done, I went back and watched Nip/Tuck. I’ve truly followed his entire career, everything he creates feels perfect for me,” she said of Murphy.
The Shards, taking place against “the vivid backdrop of 1980s Los Angeles,” follows “a group of privileged high school seniors at an elite prep school as they navigate identity, sex, jealousy, obsession and the dangers lurking beneath the surface of American adolescence.”

In the September cover story for Vogue, Gerber mentioned a longing for a pre-internet world like the one Murphy conjured up. “You watch The Shards, and it makes you long for a time when you weren’t on your phone and where you could get into a little bit of trouble without it being on the internet the next day,” she said.
