Kelly Rowland is opening up about her close friendships with Beyoncé, Michelle Williams, Ciara, and La La Anthony

The singer calls the star-studded group her "She-cosystem," and says she relies on them to "hold her accountable"

Rowland stars alongside Method Man in the new Prime Video romantic comedy Relationship Goals, where she plays an ambitious TV producer forced to work with an ex

Kelly Rowland can always rely on her girls.

The Motivation singer appeared on PEOPLE in 10 and discussed her close friendships with Ciara, La La Anthony, and her Destiny's Child bandmates Beyoncé and Michelle Williams, a star-studded group of women she calls her "She-cosystem."

"I've known them for so long," said Rowland, who stars alongside Method Man in the new Prime Video romantic comedy Relationship Goals. "They hold me accountable when I am figuring things out. They love me through my ugly. We laugh together, we experience joy together, we experience honesty together, life together, and that's the best part."

On her 45th birthday on Feb. 11, Rowland received an Instagram shoutout from Beyoncé, 44, who is perhaps her longest friendship. "#RelationshipGoals Happy Birthday Kelly" the singer captioned the post, which featured a carousel of images of the two over the years. "I WUV YOU MY BB" Rowland replied in the comments.

Rowland and Beyoncé met as children while auditioning for the girl group which would eventually become Destiny's Child. The two formed a close bond, with Rowland even moving into Beyoncé's family home. In 2000, Williams, 46, joined Destiny's Child, hitting it off with Beyoncé and Kelly. The trio remain close today, and reunited last year during the final show of Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter Tour.

Anthony is also close with Rowland. The two have been spotted together dating back to 2006. In 2023, Anthony spoke to PEOPLE about their friendship, saying Rowland is her go-to for self care tips.

"She's all about taking care of yourself and doing things to continue to nourish mind, body and soul. So when I have questions or need advice when it comes to those things, she's definitely who I call." said Anthony.

Ciara, 40, and Rowland bond over their children.

"Me and Ciara is pretty new, but we're at a decade now," said Rowland, who shares sons Titan, 11, and Noah, 4, with husband Tim Weatherspoon. "We really became tight when out children were born. And now they're both 11 years old. It's a beautiful thing, I'm so grateful for my girlfriend-hoods, It's just amazing. My she-cosystem."

In Relationship Goals, Rowland stars as Leah Caldwell a morning show producer who must compete with her ex boyfriend Jarrett Roy, played by Clifford 'Method Man' Smith Jr., 54, for a promotion. Rowland says the role exposes a softer side of Method Man.

"When we did our chemistry read, that was like the cherry on top for me," said Rowland. "It was very vulnerable, we've never seen Cliff, Method Man, like this."

As for her own definition of "relationship goals" in a couple, Rowland knows it when she sees it.

"How into each other they are. I kind of watch their body language," Rowland told PEOPLE at a special screening of the film on Feb. 3. "And when they can laugh together, that's a goal. Because when you can find joy together, when you can figure out a way to get through the tough times together, that's a relationship goal to me."
