JACKSONVILLE, AL – Kennesaw State the status of senior cornerback Caleb Offord, who was taken off on a stretcher during Saturday night's the loss to Jacksonville State.
With about 12 minutes to go in the fourth quarter, Offord collided with Gamecocks tight end Harrison Hamsley, with the two making severe helmet-to-helmet contact. Hamsley was ejected for targeting as Offord stayed down on the field for around 10 minutes as medical personnel tended to him.
Kennesaw State posted on social media just before midnight that Offord was taken to an Atlanta-area hospital while "conscious and alert" along with having feeling and movement when he exited the field. He is in stable condition according to the post and will undergo more testing in Atlanta.

Offord did not give any sign or indication of consciousness when coming off the field that could be detected from the press box. Players from both teams were seen praying while Offord was down.
Offord previously played at Alabama State, Buffalo and Notre Dame. He is from Southaven, Miss. He has made 34 tackles, including five for loss, this season.
