*Landman* is back, man.

Created by Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace, the Paramount+ hit unfolds in the oil fields of West Texas and follows Tommy Norris (Billy Bob Thornton), a sharp landman who's now president of M-Tex Oil.

Season 1 laid the groundwork for its characters, and Thornton described its follow-up as a "slow burn" since the show is able to dig "into the relationships more."

He continued, “Last season, we had to explain what this business was all about and who the people are. This season, he was able to really focus in the first few episodes on the family dynamic and the business dynamic. But this one really ramps up as it goes on, and there's more and more intensity.” **

Billy Bob Thornton has worn many hats in Hollywood: actor, writer, director, and musician among them. He rose to fame with *Sling Blade* (1996), a drama he wrote, directed, and starred in that earned him the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay.

He also has a pair of Oscar nominations for his turns in* Sling Blade* and *A Simple Plan* (1999), and won a Golden Globe for his leading turn on Amazon Prime's *Goliath *(2016–2021).

On *Landman*, Thornton plays Tommy Norris, a fixer for M-Tex Oil who becomes its president after the death of founder Monty Miller (Jon Hamm).

The actor previously told EW* *that Tommy's new position at M-Tex will "challenge" the character in unexpected ways. "Tommy's kind of a reluctant executive and still acting in his old role too, because he’s the kind of guy who can't really give up what he knows and where he feels the most comfortable," he said.

Moore returns to *Landman* as Cami Miller, M-Tex's top stakeholder and Monty's widow.

Cami takes on more responsibility in season 2, according to Moore. "I think, at the beginning, [Tommy] really is her guide and anchor," she told EW. "In the opening, you really see that I'm kind of a lamb being thrown into the lion's den [and] really having to have a real show of strength. And I think Cami is having to operate a little bit out of the fake it till you make it [mentality]."

Ali Larter began her career with breakout roles in *Varsity Blues* (1999) and the* Final Destination* franchise (2000–2003), then flexed her formidable powers on NBC's hit series *Heroes *(2006–2010). She also squared off against the undead in the *Resident Evil* film franchise (2007–2016).

Here, Larter plays Angela Norris, Tommy's flirty ex-wife who rekindled things with him in season 1. She revealed to EW that season 2 peels back new layers in Angela and Tommy's complicated relationship.

"There's definitely moments of danger and excitement, but then you also have these moments where [Angela and Tommy are] figuring out who they are and what it's going to look like if they try to make a go at this, and all that comes with that," she said. "If the children aren't going to be there, who are they to each other?"

Michelle Randolph got her big break on the *Yellowstone* prequel *1923* (2022–2025), playing Liz Strafford, the widow of Jack Dutton. Coming up, the actress will put her vocal cords to the test in *Scream 7*.

Randolph returns as Ainsley Norris, Tommy and Angela's teenage daughter. "I'm not similar to Ainsley at all," she told *USA Today*. "I love playing her because I get to unleash a side that I almost wish I were more like. She's a lot more carefree than I am."

Jacob Lofland recently appeared opposite Joaquin Phoenix in *Joker: Folie à Deux* (2024), though you may also recognize him from the second and third *Maze Runner *films (2015–2018). He also played key supporting roles on *Justified *(2014) and *The Son *(2017–2019).

On *Landman*, Lofland plays Cooper Norris, Tommy and Angela's son. In season 2, Cooper starts his own oil business, which worries Tommy.

"[Tommy] knows the good and the bad of it — the pitfalls of success and failure that come with the oil and gas industry, the boom and the bust, and the kind of lottery aspect of [how] you might get lucky for a bit, and then you might not," co-creator Christian Wallace told EW. "And so he's obviously going to be wary for Cooper to strike out on his own, because it can go either way."

Rising actress Paulina Chávez previously starred on Netflix's *The Expanding Universe of Ashley Garcia *(2020) and *Fate: The Winx Saga* (2022), as well as Disney's *Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Road Trip* (2025).

Chávez plays Ariana Medina, a young widow navigating a relationship with Cooper.

Chávez previously spoke with *Town & Country *about how interested she was in Ariana meeting Cooper's family. "I want to see that dinner together," she shared. "How is that going to go? Is it going to be really awkward? ... I want to see how Ariana and Ainsley get along and how will the mom accept her?"

Known for his rugged presence and gravelly Southern drawl, Sam Elliott is hard to forget in movies like *Road House *(1989), *Tombstone* (1993), and *The Big Lebowski *(1998). In 2019, he earned his first Oscar nomination as Bobby Maine, the manager (and half-brother) of Bradley Cooper's Jackson Maine in *A Star Is Born* (2018).

Elliott previously worked with Sheridan on *1883* (2021–2022), winning a SAG Award for his performance. He now joins *Landman* season 2 as T.L., Tommy's father.

Italian actress Stefania Spampinato is best known for playing Dr. Carina DeLuca-Bishop on ABC's *Grey's Anatomy *(2017–2024) and its spinoff, *Station 19 *(2020–2024).

Spampinato is a new addition to *Landman,* joining season 2 as the wife of Gallino's cartel boss.

Mark Collie is a popular country artist who's penned songs for the likes of Garth Brooks and Tim McGraw. His own hits include "Hard Lovin' Woman," "Even the Man in the Moon Is Cryin'," and "Born to Love You."

Collie is no stranger to the camera, either, having previously appeared in projects like*The Punisher* (2004), *Nashville *(2015–2016), and, of course, *Landman*, on which he plays Sheriff Walt Joeberg.

Veteran actor James Jordan has worked on several of Sheridan's TV dramas, from *Yellowstone* (2019–2022) and *1883* (2022) to *Mayor of Kingstown* (2021–2022) and *Special Ops: Lioness* (2023–present). He also appeared in *Wind River* (2017), which was written and directed by Sheridan.

He now returns in *Landman* season 2 as Dale Bradley, a petroleum engineer and Tommy's longtime friend.

Wallace reprises her role as Rebecca, a savvy causation lawyer, in *Landman *season 2.

She recently shared on NBC's *New York Live *that the second season will offer fans a glimpse into Rebecca's personal life. "You'll definitely see more of her personality, of who she is, when the suit comes off," she teased. "Who she is when she clocks out, and that was something that I really wanted to explore, and Taylor wrote a great storyline for her."
