Marc Anthony is proud of Bad Bunny!

The Puerto Rican singer, born Marco Antonio Muñiz, praised Bad Bunny’s Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter published on Monday, Feb. 9.

"I sure did watch the Super Bowl," Anthony, 57, said. "It was a proud moment all the way around."

Speaking of Bad Bunny, he continued, "Here’s a gentleman who is not only a great friend of mine, but I’ve known him since before he even started in music. Bad Bunny is proud of his culture, proud of everything that we as Puerto Ricans offer as a people."

Anthony said Bad Bunny, whose full name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, used his platform at the Super Bowl to "not serve himself but just serve the greater good and just instill a little pride in all Latinos at this moment, especially at this moment."

"Our culture was always worthy of celebration," he said. "I could not have been prouder of the fact that he took that opportunity to celebrate the little idiosyncrasies of what it’s like to be Latino. I was clapping at the TV."

Bad Bunny’s performance was filled with celebrity cameos and meaningful references. One special moment showed a kid being woken up after falling asleep on chairs during a party.

Anthony commented on that choreography and how it was reflective of their shared culture.

"We used to go to house parties and we’d run around with our cousins and we’d sleep under the coats, on top of the coats, until our parents were ready to go home. Little nuances like that brought a smile to my face, and I’m sure to anybody who’s experienced it. It just took me back," he said.

Anthony and Bad Bunny have known each other for a decade. The two have performed together numerous times, including at the 19th Annual Latin Grammy Awards in 2018. Anthony also joined Bad Bunny on stage during the last show of his historic hometown residency last year.

The "Vivir Mi Via" singer previously told Rolling Stone about the advice he shares with Bad Bunny "every time" they chat.

"I tell him to just to be responsible with the risk [and] with the responsibility that he’s taking on, because I’m sure for him, he sees this as a massive responsibility to represent not only his culture, but his music," he said.

Anthony will kick off his first-ever residency in Las Vegas at BleauLive Theater on Feb. 13. The one-man show is described as "an immersive journey through his energy, passion, and soul that takes guests on a deeply personal and unforgettable live experience."

Throughout his career, he has won four Grammy Awards and nine Latin Grammy Awards.

Anthony released his debut solo album, Otra Nota, in 1993. His 1999 self-titled album was his first solo album in English and featured the singles, "I " and "You Sang to Me."

The hitmaker, who also appeared in the 2021 movie In the Heights, teased his residency in his interview with THR.

"I have my stadium show and my arena show that I’ve been doing for years, but this Vegas residency affords itself for me to do things I’ve never done before. I’m designing a show for this intimate room," he said.

"I’m going to sing songs I’ve never been able to perform live in my life, for various reasons. When you have 114 No. 1s, you can only sing a certain amount. I’m looking forward to just that bucket list moment of giving those songs life on stage," Anthony added.
