Sara Gore shared that she is cancer-free after a 10-week leave for breast cancer treatment and surgery

The Open House and New York Live host, 50, wrote on social media that she is set to return to TV “soon”

Sara Gore says she has been declared “cancer-free” after being diagnosed with breast cancer.

The TV personality, 50, shared a candid post on Instagram on Sunday, July 12, following her 10-week leave of absence from her roles hosting NBC’s real estate show Open House and the lifestyle show New York Live.

“I’m doing really well,” the mom of three wrote in the post’s caption, alongside a photo of herself sitting in a garden. “Currently cancer free. Hallelujah. 🙌.”

According to Gore, she is still in the “reconstruction phase” of her treatment and will be for several months.

“It’s truly a journey. Healing has taken some time, but every week I’ve felt a little more like me again,” she continued, before thanking her friends and family for their support amid her cancer journey.

“Thank you for the books. The food. The flowers. The prayers. The puzzles. The cards. The texts. The calls. Every thoughtful gesture that came my way. I felt EVERY bit of it,” she wrote. “You carried me through some really hard days, and I’ll never forget your kindness.”

Gore shared that she is set to return to New York Live and Open House “soon” — and she “honestly can’t wait.”

“Until then, I’m soaking up these last few slow mornings appreciating all the moments that usually move by too fast to notice. It’s good to be here,” she concluded her post. “I love you all.”

The NBC host first announced that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer live on air during the April 30 episode of New York Live.

“It just felt right to tell you myself. I was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, and I’m going to be stepping away for treatment and surgery,” she said at the time. “If I didn’t say that I was a little bit scared, I’d be lying.”

The host shared that both her mother and her sister were also diagnosed with breast cancer, adding, “I always knew I was high-risk. I always assumed this day would come. But let me tell you, you are never ready.”

“For some reason, even when you catch it early because you’re doing everything right, it is an emotional blow,” Gore said during the emotional segment. “I wasn’t ready for that. That actually really surprised me. It really stung.”

Although she didn’t share details about her treatment, she said she would be taking “some time to rest and to heal.”

“I’m going to come back better than ever, and I’m going to see you on the other side of this,” Gore explained. “Thank you for all you’ve done.”
