Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford shed light on what Taylor Swift is really like behind the scenes after making an unexpected cameo in the singer’s music video.
Last weekend, Swift debuted the new music video for her song, Patient Zero, while accepting the inaugural Artist Director Honors during the MTV Video Music Awards at the Peacock Theater in downtown Los Angeles. Eagle-eyed viewers swiftly spotted Stafford and his wife, Kelly, slow dancing in the background of the video, which was part of a re-release of the 2025 album, The Life of a Showgirl.
While making an appearance on SiriusXM’s 'Let's Go!' podcast, Stafford pulled back the curtain on his “cool experience” in front of the camera before heaping praise on Swift. “She's been amazing to get to know, and obviously amazing to my wife and my girls,” he said of the pop icon. “It was kind of that connection that got me involved and some of my buddies. So, it was a really cool experience.”
Stafford revealed that he was allowed to bring his four daughters — twins Sawyer and Chandler, 9, Hunter, 8, and Tyler, 6 — onto the production set. “My girls were there on the set, got to see how all that was done and how [Swift] kind of carries herself, which is unbelievable,” he added.
“I know my girls will never forget being there, seeing all that on set, which was cool.”
According to Stafford, Swift was running around the set “directing, producing, editing, running the show, obviously the lead singer.”

The three-time Pro Bowler promptly gave the 14-time Grammy Award winner her due praise, stating: “It's a pretty impressive thing, and I was really happy to be a part of it.”
Taking to social media on Sept. 27, Swift shared what it was like to fill the director’s chair for a change. “With the Patient Zero video, I got to explore the cinematic and literary genres I love so much,” she wrote.
“I wanted to incorporate elements of gothic ghost stories, true crime, psychological thrillers all in a setting I hadn’t really shot in much. The house was a metaphor for the coldness of a relationship that’s faded and atrophied.”
This is hardly the first time that Stafford and Swift have crossed paths in recent weeks.
