Alexis Ohanian is sharing his pride about wife Serena Williams
The tech entrepreneur looked on with their daughters as the 23-time Grand Slam singles champ returned to competitive singles play at Wimbledon on Tuesday
Williams, 44, lost a three-set match to 20-year-old Maya Joint
According to Alexis Ohanian, Serena Williams is serving "inspiration."
On Tuesday, June 30, the tech entrepreneur and father of two beamed with pride from the players box at Wimbledon as his wife returned to competitive singles tennis.
āOur little family is so proud of you @serenawilliams - even though it wasnāt the outcome you wanted, youāre an inspiration,ā Ohanian, 43, wrote alongside a carousel of images posted later that day.
He added,Ā āWe love you. @olympiaohanian@adiraohanian are also happy they got to stay up a bit past their bedtime šā
In her bid to return to tennis for the first time in nearly four years, Williams, 44, lost in the first round at the All England Club, 6-3, 6-7(6), 6-3 ā to 20-year-old Australian Maya Joint.

As she took Centre Court before the match, the tennis icon was met with a roar from the crowd as her family ā including sister Venus and her husband Andrea Preti ā looked on.
The match got underway with Joint winning the first set in 35 minutes, but things took a turn in the second, with Williams battling back.

At one point, the Ro ambassador broke Joint's serve three consecutive times. The set went to a tiebreak, where Williams rallied from down a break twice and forced a third set.
Ultimately, the mother of two seemingly ran out of gas and lost the final set.

In a post on Instagram on Wednesday, July 1, the 13-time Wimbledon champion (seven singles titles and six doubles titles with Venus) thanked her family and fans for the support ā and revealed that she suffered an injury during the match.
āI tweaked my knee late in the first set, but Iāll be doing everything I can to be ready for doubles with @venuswilliams,ā Serena wrote.
Serena continued, āIt felt so good to be back on the grass at @wimbledon. Iām incredibly thankful for the wild card - and even more grateful my daughters got to see that itās never too late to chase something you love.ā
The Williams sisters are set to meet Solan Sierra and Camila Osorio on Thursday in the first round of Wimbledon's doubles tournament.
