*The View*'s economic summit turned into a peak talk show moment on Thursday morning.

Regular cohosts Joy Behar, Whoopi Goldberg, and Sunny Hostin turned the Hot Topics table back against guest cohost (and CNBC anchor) Sara Eisen's claims about the state of the nation.

Amid a wider discussion about the economic impact of the United States' joint strike on Iran with Israel, Sara Haines kicked off the debate by observing that, "So many people voted Donald Trump in because they were promised that gas, eggs, everything was going down. Never did that," she said, adding that a "lack of understanding of what real people go through every day" bothered her most about the current presidential administration.

"They're not being empathetic, sure, but if you look at the facts, the economy is generally in pretty good shape," Eisen said, as the audience lightly laughed at the claim, prompting Eisen to turn toward them for her next remark. "I know it doesn't feel that way for everybody, and we do have this phenomenon, which we've talked about. The rich have gotten richer..."**

Hostin cut her off to quip, "*much* richer," before Behar stepped in, too.****"Can I ask you a question? So, you forgive everything because the economy's in good shape?" the 83-year-old comedian asked. Eisen quickly responded to deny that assessment.

"Sometimes, when it comes to President Trump, you have to separate the character from the policies, and there are policies that this administration has done [that work]," she continued, pointing to a "transformational policy" that would give newborn babies $1,000 if their parents open a so-called Trump Account.

After Behar made a joke about Trump's hair looking like a graveyard of dead birds, Eisen attempted to further her point, but Goldberg cut her off.

"Listen, I'm sorry, for me, until he realizes how this affects all of us as citizens, it's not enough," the 70-year-old EGOT-winning actress said before throwing the program to an ad break. "But, we're done talking about it, we've got to go. We'll be right back."

Eisen and* The View* ladies have lightly butted heads over politics in recent weeks, after Eisen first joined the panel for a smattering of appearances amid regular conservative panelist Alyssa Farah Griffin's maternity leave.

On Wednesday, Hostin mocked Eisen after the CNBC star said she doesn't think Trump's decision-making is influenced by foreign entities. "Really? Okay. If that helps you sleep at night, that's great!" Hostin said, smiling as she sipped from her mug.

When reached for comment, a White House representative pointed * *to a post from White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, who singled out "the absurd allegation that President Trump made this decision based on the influence of others, even foreign countries," calling it both "insulting and laughable."

*The View *airs weekdays on ABC.
