Warning: The following contains major spoilers for the Wednesday, Oct. 7, episode of"Survivor 51."

"Survivor" blindsides are in full swing during the open era.

Season 51 of the reality competition series keeps viewers counting each vote at tribal council as Jeff Probst reads them one by one. The new season marks a return to two tribes instead of three for the first time since Season 40 aired in early 2020, and the format has so far led to unpredictable eliminations.

Despite the Savu and Toka tribes losing one immunity challenge each, the Oct. 7 episode saw lopsided numbers thanks to two new twists and one contestant who voluntarily left the game.

At the Day 6 immunity challenge, the Toka tribe arrived with 11 members, while Savu was already down to 7.

Here's what happened, including who became the third person voted out of "Survivor 51."

Why did Rob Antonson quit 'Survivor'?

Rob Antonson decided his time on the Fiji island was up when he exited the game after suffering from apparent foot pain at the start of Wednesday's episode.

The show's medical team examined Rob's foot after he reported pain but found no medical evidence of an injury. Rob told Jeff and his tribe that the pain and risk of infection weren't worth staying in the game.

The 40-year-old Rhode Island Airline gate agent's voluntary exit comes after he attempted to vote himself out of the game in the Sept. 30 episode and play his hidden immunity idol on Eric Macksoud, believing everyone else was voting for him. Producers told Rob that he was not allowed to write his own name down, and unbeknownst to him, Ana Sani was blindsided in a 6-4 vote.

Two players offered the chance to mutiny

Instead of a reward challenge at the start of the episode, both tribes were given the chance to send one of their members to visit the opposing team.

Savu's Carter Krull and Toka's Devin Way ended up taking field trips to the opposing beaches where they got to interact with the other tribe. Before arriving, they were informed of two twists.

They had the opportunity to find an advantage, later revealed to be an extra vote, at the other tribe's camp. They also had the chance to mutiny and abandon their original team entirely.

In a position of power, Devin declined the offer and went back to Toka, where he has some of his closest allies. But he did find the extra vote with Sharonda Cox's help.

Meanwhile, Carter abandoned his original tribe and became a permanent Toka member after being on the wrong side of Ana's vote last episode and after his close ally Rob quit the game. As a parting gift, Rob left his hidden immunity idol to Carter.

Who won the immunity challenge?

Despite entering the immunity challenge with 11 members, the Toka tribe lost after falling behind in the puzzle while Savu celebrated an underdog victory.

Savu's loss led to a juicy vote as Devin, Brady Booker, Angelica "Jelly" Loblack, Mike Pinsky, and Patt Cannaday attempted a "killshot" blindside of Danny Kilby.

What they didn't know was that new members Carter and Lewis Kelly were having reservations about which alliance to side with. Lewis also joined Toka late, having spent the first three days of the season tribeless on Exile Island, and quickly bonded with Carter.

Kilby tried to rally his fellow "misfits," Maggie Nestor, Jenna Doore, An "Thien An" Nguyen to orchestrate a blindside against the majority alliance.

Who was voted out of 'Survivor 51?'

Patt Cannaday was the third person voted out of "Survivor 51" and the fourth person to leave the game following two tribal councils and Rob's voluntary departure.

The 33-year-old federal prosecutor from Tampa, Florida, was voted out 7-5 after Lewis and Carter sided against the majority alliance to save Kilby.

Brady, Devin, Mike, and Jelly were completely blindsided and now find themselves at the bottom after believing they were running things.
